Description
Defense technologies linked to the defense industry that need to be protected for national security reasons. These technologies are designated and publicly notified in accordance with Article 7 of the 「Defense Industry Technology Protection Act」 [8 fields, 45 categories, 123 technologies (as of Jan. 2020)].

Technologies that Require Professional Determination
- Defense industry technologies being developed in KAIST as part of government-funded national R&D projects that have been designated and publicly announced by the Minister of DAPA as DITs. Link
- Technologies being developed that have been determined as DITs through determination requests to the Minister of DAPA in accordance with the 「Defense Industry Technology Protection Act」.
When to Apply for Professional Determination
- When the technology of a research project is specified (during the mid-term evaluation or end date of the project)
※ In the case of consigned projects, the supervising institution may apply for a professional determination following consultation.
Professional Determination Process
- Application documents to be submitted to the Minister of DAPA through the RSAT
